The Glendale Fire Department Arson Unit includes two full-time arson investigators, one from Police and one from Fire, working in conjunction with specially trained suppression personnel who serve as shift investigators.

All fires of suspicious origin in the city are investigated and suspects are followed up for possible prosecution.

Arson investigators also perform a variety of ancillary investigative functions including background checks for prospective employees.
