Fire Administration provides direction, oversight and control of the fire department organization and administrative support to all sections.
As the third-largest city in Los Angeles County, Glendale encompasses an area of 30.59 square miles and is home to over 200,000 residents. In 2007, the Glendale Fire Department responded to nearly 15,500 incidents, over 42 incidents per day. An incident may be as simple as responding to a false alarm in a commercial building or as complex as fighting a brush fire with assistance from dozens of other fire agencies over several days’ time.
