Glendale's High Fire Hazard Zones

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CalFire) has developed recommendations related to urban development immediately adjacent to wildland, where the designated fire hazard level is based on the density of the surrounding vegetation. An ordinance was passed in Glendale on June 10 that adopts these recommendations and designates certain areas of the city as "very high fire safety hazard severity zones."
